A GUIDE TO PLAIN WEDDING BAND OPTIONS
There's more to choosing a plain wedding band
than you might think
10 PRECIOUS METALS
Your first step is to choose the precious metal for your ring. Choose the look you love but also consider the metal that your engagement ring is made from. Softer metals like white gold and silver can wear down quite heavily over time when worn next to harder metals. If you have gold rings try and keep the carat rate the same ie 9ct gold is harder than 18
4 DIFFERENT RING PROFILES
The profile of your ring is the shape of its cross-section. BWR offers 4 different profiles, Court, Flat Court, Flat and D-Shape. Considerations are comfort, and style and how well the ring will sit next to your engagement ring on your finger.
VARIOUS RING WIDTHS
Choosing the width of your ring is mainly about style and what looks best on your hand. Of course wider rings are more expensive than narrow ones because of the amount of precious metal in them.
42 RING SIZES
For simplicity, BWR follows the traditional UK sizing convention for men’s and women’s rings. Please don’t pay any attention to whether it says “Men’s” or “Women’s” though – get what fits – there’s no difference in the look!
3 METAL WEIGHTS
You can choose from 3 different weights for your ring (2 for D-Shapes as Lightweight does not support the design). It’s hard to show in an illustration or photograph but a heavy weight ring looks and feels chunkier and more substantial, you won’t forget it so easily when you take it off to wash your hands!
A RANGE OF SPECIAL FINISHES
Our plain band wedding rings come with a highly polished mirror finish as standard but you can select a different finish if you wish.
ENGRAVING
You can have your own personal inscription engraved on the inner surface of your ring. We offer a range of beautiful and stylish fonts and if you wish you can supply a font or design of your own (subject to approval by the jewellery workshop). We recently engraved the score from the wedding song onto a ring.
